Why Come to Topinabee Pines in the Summer?

We think there are lots of good reasons! Here are our Top 5:

  1. Summer Up North!
Who doesn't want to be Up North in the summer? Innertubing on the Indian River, boating on Mullet Lake, shopping in Mackinaw City, walking the Big Mac, biking or walking the waterside trails -- what more could you ask for? This is the Midwest's summer destination!
  2. We're in the middle of everything ... and yet not quite
It's true! Topinabee is both out of the way and centrally located. Want to do some boating? We're just off the Inland Waterway -- right between Mullett and Burt. Interested in the Gaslight District? It's just over a half hour away. Cross In The Woods? Indian River is just a few minutes away. (Good ice cream there, too!) Walking or cycling? There are trails all over, including one just down from the cottage that leads north to Cheboygan and Mackinaw City or south toward Indian River, Wolverine, Gaylord, or Petoskey; much of it along the shores of Mullett Lake. Fancy a scenic drive? Head on over to M-119: Harbor Springs, Cross Village, Legs Inn. Pick up the route just about a half hour from the cottage. Or for a full-day excursion, check out the Upper Penninsula's attractions, like Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore or Shipwreck Museum. And of course, Mackinaw City and the Mackinac Bridge are just over a half hour away. But when you're done, your home away from home will be waiting for you, tucked away in the woods away from the hustle. At Topinabee Pines, you're close to everything, without being in the midst of everything.
  3. It feels like home
... because it is a home. This is not a hotel room or a tiny cabin. Our cottage has room to stretch your legs and wander about. There's a fully furnished kitchen, not a kitchenette. A washer and dryer. A grill out back, and even a fire pit. Unpack and relax; this feels like home.
  4. More stay for your money. Maybe you've stayed in a place like the Griswolds got?

That wouldn't be a huge surprise. Industry insiders say that hotel rooms average around 325 square feet. 325! That might be enough for an overnight stay, but isn't that a bit tight for a weeklong vacation? At Topinabee Pines, you have about three times that amount of space, plus the front and back yard. Parking is free, and there's no expected gratuity. Add it all up and we think you'll see: we're a better value for your travel dollar.
  5. Sails on the water, wind in the trees, fireworks over the lakes, and the smell of the grill on the breeze. Did we mention that it's Summer Up North? If you want to be here send us an email We'll let you know how to reserve, and you can get ready for a wonderful summer Up North.
